This project was first announced in 2010 and the construction of the statue started in October 2013 by Larsen &Toubro , with a total construction cost of Rs 2,989 crore.It was designed by indian sculptor Ram V.Sutar , and was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 October 2018,the 143rd anniversary of sardar patel's birth.

In this article , we analyse the statue from all possible aspects:

World's tallest statue is now in our country.what a proud moment , Right?

Now the whole world will look at us with respect

Lakhs and crore of peoples will visist the statue and it will promote the tourism industry

this will increase the number of jobs

and what tribute we have given to sardar patel ji by making his world's tallest statue.

actually this is not said by me ,this is what we get to hear about the statue of unity.

so ,lets have a look to the reality of the statue of sardar patel ji

The entire cost of this whole project is around 3000 crore rupees where the approximate cost of only the statue itself is estimate to rupees 1,350 crore.In the camparison to this, the tallest statue in the world so far was the buddha statue of spring temple, china.But now it become the second tallest statue in the world.

Tourism:

In the terms of tourism ,statue of unity will not become an important tourist destination in my opinion. Friends, India's most popular and visited tourist attraction is TAJ MAHAL .Taj Mahal attracts 8 millions tourists from worldwide avery year But I don't think so this statue will become the most attraction tourism place bacause as camparison the STATUE OF UNITY is not so beautiful and attractive as others.

So the cost was spend to this statue is not revenue in some years ,Its takes lot of year to recover this large amount.the most expensive ticket of 350 rupees to see the observation deck of the statue.according to me its just a waste of money because artitech,structure and colour is not too attractive.let me tell you the reasons ,the first reason is its location as statue of liberty is at new york, eiffel tower is at paris ,this is a very important reason for the and from statue of unity there is no such a famous place or location ever. second reason is the uniqueness,that unfortunately I dont't find any such unique thing in the STATUE OF UNITY.

be its style or the choice of colors or the pose all these things you can see in any ordinary statue.

EMPLOYMENT:

Now some people will say why are you only considering the price of the entry tickets,many local business will open there,many restaurants will come in place ,may peoples will get the job and more revenue will be generated through the local economy.

If we only wanted to give jobs and open local business then there are many way to use these 3000 crore rupees in better way.we could have opened skill development centers and there wasn't any need for making this statue.

It looks like govt didn't pay heed towards the profitability of the statue.the presence of this statue is a waste of our tax.

DISADVANTAGE :

1.waste of money around (3000 crore)

2.waste of location and land where the statue build

3.Unemployment(thousands of peoples were loses their home,land and etc)

4.No tourist attraction at all

5.Very expensive ticket

FEATURES:

The Statue of Unity is the world's tallest statue at 182 metres (597 ft). It rises 54 metres (177 ft) higher than the previous record holder, the Spring Temple Buddha in China's Henan province. The previous tallest statue in India was the 41 m (135 ft) tall statue of Lord Hanuman at the Paritala Anjaneya Temple near Vijayawada in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The statue can be seen within a 7 km (4.3 mi) radius.

The monument is constructed on a river island named Sadhu Bet, 3.2 km (2.0 mi) away from and facing the Narmada Dam downstream.The statue and its surroundings occupy more than 2 hectares (4.9 acres),^{[citation needed]} and are surrounded by a 12 km (7.5 mi) long artificial lake formed by the Garudeshwar weir downstream on the Narmada river.

The statue is divided into five zones of which only three are accessible to the public. From its base to the level of Patel's shins is the first zone which has three levels and includes the exhibition area, mezzanine and roof. The first zone also contains a memorial garden and a museum. The second zone reaches up to Patel's thighs, while the third extends up to the viewing gallery at a height of 153 metres. The fourth zone is the maintenance area while the final zone comprises the head and shoulders of the statue.

How ironic it is ,thats its only been destruction done to make this statue of unity

POLITICS:

This is not the first time where a politician has used statue for its personal benefits and to play politics.All the politicians play politics pack of the things also statue and etc.

Statue are always political .this is truth of the statue of unityjust as it is true of the shiv smarak,the planned ram statue ,and many other statues built by politicals leaders over the past several decades.Given recents developments ,it's possible that political leader across the country could embark on a competitive bout of statue building resulting in giant statue mushrooming around the country.
