WhatsApp delays PRIVACY POLICY after backlash....

 Whatsapp has announced that it is moving forward the date to accept its new terms and conditions to May 15. The previous date for this was February 8.

The company says this is due to all the confusion and misinformation around there latest update and that they are going to use the time to clear up the misinformation around how privacy and security works on whatsapp. They will then go to people gradually to review the policy at their own pace before May 15. This cause the mass panic among users, with many choosing to switch over to telegram and signal.

It had faced a lot of flack for the change in the privacy plans people had started moving to signal and some other platforms but now because they saw a lot of people shift the base they came under a lot of criticism we're now seeing whatsapp change it stands and its dealing Its updation of privacy saying that we will not suspend any accounts just yet this has now been deferred over the last one week there has been a lot of conversation about privacy as far as whatsapp storing your chats and misusing your data and now for coming under flag they have delayed this entire process.

Is New WHATSAPP update scary ?

Yesterday I opened WhatsApp and i got this Prompt about this new whatsapp privacy policy so, I obviously went ahead checked it out all the details.

But today i gonna give you multiple to delete whatsapp, so basically there are three question regarding the new whatsapp privacy policy that i am going to answer in a very simple manner.

1.What Personal Data Is Collected By WhatsApp !

what data does whatsapp collect so basically whatsapp still can't read your chats because its end to end encrypted but here's everything else it know so whatsapp know what phone you're using basically your phone model, the network  your're using your or your battery life, signal strength, your time zone, your IP Address  along with all other whatsapp details like your whatsapp usage with basically means how you're using the app when you're last online etc. whatsapp also has access to your payment details, your transaction thanks to whatsapp pay, status updates group detail like group name, picture, description, profile photo and your about info, so that's all the data whatsapp has about you and your phone.

2.What Data Is Shared With Facebook !

So coming to the important question what data is shared with facebook, well almost everything  so as part of the new privacy policy. all of the data that can be accessed by whatsapp will be shared with facebook as well as other facebook companies like instagram that's not all about you share on whatsapp can also be used by facebook to bring you more. Personalized ads offer's recommendation content on facebook and instagram. For example, when you share a link on whatsapp about may be a new phone and you want to buy a new jacket etc. you want to buy whatsapp and facebook take this info to use it for ads ands other services. so don't be surprised  when you and your friends see the same ads about that phone or that jacket. So facebook now completely access to all of your whatsapp data and unlike in the past when you had an option to not share your data with facebook there's no such option now.

3.What Data Is Shared With Business Accounts On WhatsApp !

Now coming to the last question, what data is shared when you interact with the business accounts on whatsapp. so when you're messaging a business account on whatsapp you have to keep in mind that your data might be available to several people in their business and if the business is working with other third party services. your data might be shared with them too, so honestly if you're messaging a business account on whatsapp your data is not really as secure or personal a part from all of those details in the new whatsapp privacy policy is also noticed a couple of really interesting and important changes that you should know about first up when it comes to as the previous whatsapp privacy said we still don not allow third party banner ads on our services, but the newer policy adds a sentence to it that says we have no intention to introduce them but if we ever do we will update this privacy policy which i personally think is a hint that some days we will see ads in whatsapp. Now i might reading into the lines a bit too much but it is facebook so i think its valid  another thing i previously did not know is when you delete your whatsapp account using the delete option in the whatsapp app not all of your data is deleted now most of your data will be deleted but your data related to the groups you created or the data other users have of you like your messages sent to them will not be deleted.

How To Improve Privacy ?

1.Firstly, be careful about what app permission you give.

2.To read the OTP once, we give apps permission to read SMSs and then we forget to cancel those permissions.

3.Go to setting and then app permissions and cancel microphone +camera permission for least used apps.

5.Don't leave your password on whatsapp.

6.At the same time, we will slowly move to more secure option ! like signal etc so that our work related important conversation are more secure.

7.According to my opinion with this whatsapp policy is that we stop using whatsapp and move to other platform for secure.

Solution?

The problem is that, at the moment we do not have a strong data protection act in india, the work is ongoing but till the bill does not get passed, we are the ones who have to remain careful. the permanent solution would be to have a strong law this means the govt has to compulsorily make a law on it.......
